Palace Chat, also known as "The Palace", is a graphical chat program that allows users to interact with each other in a virtual, 2D environment. Users choose avatars to represent themselves and navigate through different rooms and "palaces" (chat servers) to communicate with others. It was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, offering features like customizable avatars, room design, and even basic game elements. While official development for the original Palace software ended, some users continue to maintain and use the program and its associated servers.
